How do I clean the LitterMaid™ litter box? a) Check to make sure the Rake is in the Home Position. b) Turn the On/Off Switch to the “off” position. c) Unplug the unit and remove the batteries to prevent accidental activation of the unit. d) Lift the latches on both sides of the unit and lift up by the side panel handles – this will separate the tray from the Main Housing. e) Dispose of the used litter. Wipe the Litter Tray with a damp cloth. If further cleaning is necessary, the Litter Tray can be fully immersed in water and washed with a mild detergent. Important: Do not soak or immerse the Main Housing in water. Dry the unit completely before reassembling. Top

Will litter clumps block the motion detector from working? That's the great thing about the LitterMaid™ litter box - there are no litter clumps left in the box! Our automated, self-cleaning system clears the litter box after each use so clumps are not allowed to build up. It is possible for litter dust to attach itself to the sensors on the side panels and give a false reading. If this happens, simply wipe the sensors with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Top

|
16
. |
Why is my LitterMaid™ not running automatically? The Sensors may be dusty and need to be cleaned. The two Sensors are located on the interior side panels and are protected by sensor covers. After changing or adding litter, always wipe each Sensor with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Top

Why does the red light continually blink? a) If batteries are installed, the battery level could be low. b) There could be an obstruction in the unit. Check to see if the clumped litter is stuck to the Litter Tray (clean Tray as necessary), or if the litter level is above the “Full Line” (remove excess litter). If there is an obstruction in the unit, the Rake will try to clear it 5 times, and if unsuccessful, it will return to the Home position and the red light will continually blink. Top

Can the cycle-timer be adjusted? No. Ten minutes is the optimum time required for the "clumps" to be hard enough to be raked away. Top
